Getting your upgrade order right in tower defence
Upgrading in tower defence feels obvious until you realize how many players spread their resources thin and wonder why nothing feels strong. The answer is almost always upgrade order.
Early on, deepen before you spread. One strong, well-placed tower usually outperforms three weak ones, especially against tougher single enemies. I aim to get one anchor tower to a high tier before building outward.
Range upgrades are underrated. A tower that reaches more of the path effectively multiplies its own damage, because it fires at each enemy for longer. When I'm unsure, range is my default pick.
Finally, watch the enemy previews between waves. If a wave of armored units is coming, that's the moment to pour upgrades into your armor-piercing option instead of blindly following your usual plan. Adapting per wave is what separates a good defender from a stuck one.
